Winter is upon us

Winter is fast approaching in much of the country.  Aside from the shorter days, perhaps this means skating on natural ice at some point. 

Here's a photo from the Netherlands--they put out carpet scraps to walk over short stretches of land so you don't have to remove your skates or put on scabbards.
